Summary

This course provides students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to work with individuals with mental health issues and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings including state facilities, group homes or individual living arrangements. The student will have the ability to work with the disabled person, providing training and health care support in an effective and ethical manner.

Certification Exam Information – BACB Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Certification Requirements
To qualify for the RBT examination, candidates must:

  • Complete a 40-hour training program based on the RBT Task List (2nd ed.)
  • Successfully pass the Initial Competency Assessment
  • Submit an application to the BACB and receive an Authorization to Test (ATT) Behavior Analyst Certification Board

Common Job Titles for RBT-Certified Professionals
With an RBT certification, you can pursue careers as a behavior technician, direct support professional, paraprofessional, or clinical assistant in various settings, including schools, clinics, and home-based programs.

Associates Degree Considerations
With an RBT certification, students may consider pursuing an associate’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, or Human Services to advance their skills and career opportunities in behavioral health and related fields.
